Feast Of St. Francis …. Blessing Of The Animals

Today is the Blessing of the Animals at many churches across the country. All types of pets (and the people they belong to) are welcome to this outdoor blessing service. All pets are welcome but if for some reason you can not bring your pet you can bring a photo instead. The blessing service usually includes song and prayers for living pets as well as those who have passed on.
But more importantly is Churches will be collecting old towels, sheets and blankets for No Kill and Non-Profit Shelters in your area. This is a major help to these Shelters and a good chance for you to clean out the linen closet!
