think of the immigrants that came here in the early 1900s; jewish people settled in NYC and spoke yiddish or russian or their native language. and they carefully and slowly learned english.
the woman who cleans my workplace is originally from russia; she is a naturalized US citizen who speaks english, but when she is with family/friends, she speaks russian. in rethuglican eyes, that’s just wrong. NOT!
how come in canada people are english/french fluent and everyone gets along?
