“thankyou my friend”

I stopped by my favorite Publix this morning to pick up several things for a quick trip to Charlotte.  One of the courtesy clerks always “double bags” my purchases and if not busy insists on carrying them to the jeep. With a smile his parting greeting is always “thankyou  my friend”

Now for those of you who do not know Publix it is the “gold standard” of customer service and has a loyal customer base.  But I digress it had me thinking about what a friend is.  What does it really mean to have a “FRIEND”? Is a friend someone who you eat ice cream with? Someone that likes pickles as much as you do? Someone to give you that emotional support system you need just when you’re ready to give up? A friend can mean and be many things to many different people but one must never underestimate the POWER of a  “FRIEND.”
