The Georgia Senate passed new legislation last week prohibiting involuntary implantation of microchips in any body part regardless of the person’s age. The Senate voted 47-2 in favor of the bill.

It is sponsored by Republican State Senator Chip Pearson(The darling of the tea party movement) “This is simply to try to get ahead and protect under our state constitution our rights as people first,” Pearson said. “We implant cattle and dogs, and that’s fine. I just don’t think implanting someone against their will is something that should be allowed.”

Pearson said he is not aware of any microchips being involuntary implanted in people right now, so Democratic Senator Ronald Ramsey questioned the need for the bill.

Really? I wonder if this really is as dumb as it sounds or is there some backstory I am missing? Don’t we have more serious issues that we need to work on right now? But since they took the time…It also makes me wonder who would vote against this? I need the names of those two Senators! Or maybe they were just voting against it because it was stupid!

It has me thinking of a quote by Gerald Ford, “one of the penalties for failure to participate in the voting process is you end up governed by your inferiors.”

The Tea Party crazies, who are all about no government seem to have no problem with this kind of very intrusive Big Brother government. They are nuts.

Amazing. Georgia is certainly taking the lead in this very important issue!!
