“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get it’s pants on”.

I was reading something over on Facebook, where someone had cut and pasted a long list of stats to support her argument. It didn’t make sense.

The stats just didn’t match previous information that I had heard, and seemed to fantastic to be real.

Sure enough, a quick search of this data turned up that it was indeed a scam.

This person had build her beliefs based on this false information. She was convinced that she was right because she had facts to prove it because it was forwarded to her (along with 345 of her close personal friends. )

It makes me wonder how often people do this. Without doing a quick search to find out if the information is true and accurate. Do we take things on facebook at face value to easily?

Strange how narrow minded people can be, that they can’t change their way of thinking no matter what real information they have in front of them.facebook
