On the way back to Atlanta a woman in line behind me at QT in Unillia Georgia took me to task about thanking the cashier and calling her by name. First she wanted to know why I thanked her I was the customer and second how did I know her name? That was easy … I looked at her name tag.

It got me thinking there is a good reason we like to be called by our name. In an impersonal world to be called by name reminds us that we are individuals each a sacred and unique person and brought to mind John 10:1-18
